Accreditation

“Accreditation is a process that asks the school to demonstrate the capacity, commitment, and
competence of all stakeholders to support high-quality student learning and ongoing school
improvement. Accreditation is a vehicle for the school to focus on the learning and growth of today’s
students and on the practices that will ensure the long-term sustainability necessary for the school to beable to serve future generations as well. “

WMS received official accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges in 2014 for 2014-20. The report recapping this visit and recommendations may be downloaded at the bottom of this page.

A two-person mid-cycle Accreditation Committee visited WMS in April 2017. The Mid-Cycle Visit report is also available on the bottom of this page. During the 2019-20 school year, all members of our WMS faculty and staff as well as members of our Ho'okako'o Corporation Local School Board and our Local Advisory Panel participated in a new Self-Study which included a comprehensive review of our programs and services in anticipation of a March 2020 accreditation visit. Unfortunately, due to school closure, the visit has been postponed until September 20-23, 2020, and will be held virtually. Please see below for the January 2020 Self-Study.
