Monday, August 6, 2018 - 3 p.m. - Hurricane Hector Update for Waimea Middle School 'Ohana:
However, at this time, we do not anticipate that Hurricane Hector will impact school and we will start the new year tomorrow - Tues., Aug. 7, 2018 at 8 a.m. as planned. We urge all students to attend on time and are excited about welcoming everyone back for a great new year of learning and growing. Here is a link to the Central Pacific Hurricane Center webite, which has many "live" links for tracking the storm: High surf is expected to impact east-facing shores of Hawai'i Island with heights building today through Tuesday and peaking Tuesday night/Wednesday. Surf may reach 15 to 20 feet. If conditions change, we will advise families by calls/emails home via "School Connects" and also will post information on our Facebook Page (www.Facebook.com/WaimeaMiddleSchool ) and website (www.WaimeaMiddleSchool.org). You may of course always call the school office too: 887-6090 Ext. 222 between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Mahalo and please remain safe. Janice English Principal |
