Food Service

Great News for WMS Families This Summer!  Free Breakfast! Free Lunch!
Beginning Mon., June 10, 2019, youth 18 and under in Waimea may enjoy a free breakfast and lunch any and every weekday through Friday, July 19 in Waimea School Cafeteria. The cafeteria will not be serving meals on Tues., June 11 – Kamehameha Day, a Hawai’i State holiday, or Thurs., July 4 – US. Independence Day, a federal holiday.

This is part of the USDA’s free Seamless Summer food service program to help keep children eating healthy while school is out.  There is no cost to attend nor required registration, just come from 7:45-8:15 a.m. for breakfast, and from 10:30-11:30 a.m. for lunch in the cafeteria.  No ID is necessary and this is available to all youth 18 and under regardless of what school they attend or if they are homeschooled. Special needs youth over 18 may be accommodated.  Food must be enjoyed in the cafeteria; no take-outs.

Regular School Year - Free Food Service for All Students

WMS students will enjoy a FREE breakfast and lunch daily during the 2018-19 school year. We are doing this because experience and all the research confirms that students learn better when they have had a nutritious breakfast and lunch.

This is made possible by the Community Eligibility Provision of the USDA National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs - for public schools that have a large Title I student population. Our local school board, Ho’okako’o Corporation, helped facilitate the application process and the school is committing its per pupil resources to help underwrite this.  We thank all who make this possible for our students and families!

See Breakfast & Lunch Menus below - WMS posts menus here and on our Facebook page. We have transitioned to paperless to help save paper and trees and to be more cost efficient. Printed copies of menus are available in the office.
